Christopher McMillan

Mr. McMillan’s practice focuses on construction law, with particular emphasis on design and construction related litigation and arbitration, complex construction contracts, and risk mitigation strategies. His practice includes significant experience with renewable energy projects where he has handled disputes arising from design, construction, operation, and maintenance issues on solar and wind farms.

Mr. McMillan has successfully represented owners, contractors, and design professionals in high-stakes, multi-party construction disputes across Texas. His representative experience includes:

• Successfully representing multiple civil engineering firms and developers in litigation involving storm water management systems and drainage infrastructure;
• Leading arbitration against one of the largest privately held general contracting firms globally in disputes arising from the construction of wind energy projects;
• Representing MEP engineers in disputes arising from the design and construction of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for major commercial and institutional facilities;
• Representing the developer of a significant hospitality project in construction-related disputes;
• Representing an architectural firm in litigation involving a $390 million hospital campus; and
• Achieving favorable pre-trial settlement in a dispute involving the design and construction of large-scale multi-occupant residential properties.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. McMillan worked as a construction project manager, managing both vertical and horizontal construction projects. This hands-on construction experience, combined with his Construction Science degree and legal expertise, provides him with a unique perspective that enables him to deliver practical, business-oriented solutions to complex construction challenges. He leverages this background to develop focused strategies and analyses, delivering strategic recommendations in clear, actionable terms for his clients.

Mr. McMillan received his undergraduate degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University and his J.D. from St. Mary’s University.
