Position Overview:
CM Law is actively seeking a Transactional Tax Partner with at least 8 years of experience in corporate and transactional tax work. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of U.S. tax law, specifically in the context of mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, and should have a proven track record in managing complex transactions and providing top-tier tax advice.
Key Responsibilities:
– Advise on corporate mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
– Provide counsel on partnerships, LLCs, joint ventures, and private equity structures.
– Expertise in private equity fund formation, real estate investments, and REITs.
– Guide clients on capital markets transactions and the tax implications of financing structures.
– Strong understanding of U.S. tax laws for foreign companies and individuals conducting business in the U.S.
– Awareness of state and local tax implications.
– Develop and maintain a portable client base generating at least $250,000 per year.
Qualifications:
– A minimum of 8 years of transactional tax experience in an AmLaw 200 firm or equivalent setting.
– Proven experience leading significant corporate and tax-driven transactions.
– Ability to work independently, with a strong sense of responsibility and self-sufficiency.
– Must possess a portable client base with at least $250k in annual revenue.
– Experience in cross-border transactions and advising on international tax matters is a plus.
