Jennifer (Jen) Howard (jhoward@cm.law) advises clients throughout the U.S. regarding asset-based financing transactions, focusing on equipment finance and energy-generation project finance. In addition to launching CM Law’s new Equipment Leasing and Finance Practice with Partner Ken Weinberg, Jen will be an integral member of the firm’s Banking & Financial Services and Energy Transactions Practices. Her experience in the equipment finance industry includes all phases of structuring and documenting true leases, leases intended as secured financing, and equipment loans. Her energy industry experience includes advising clients in connection with construction loans, term loans, and other types of financing related to energy generation facilities, such as anaerobic digesters, landfill gas-to-energy facilities, solar facilities, and natural gas-fired plants.
Ken Weinberg (kweinberg@cm.law has been actively involved in the commercial equipment leasing and finance industry for decades and is the recipient of the Edward A. Groobert Award for Legal Excellence, given by the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA). In addition to launching CM Law’s new Equipment Leasing and Finance Practice with Partner Jen Howard, Ken will be an integral member of the firm’s Banking & Financial Services and Energy Transaction Practices. He has significant experience across a broad spectrum of commercial equipment leasing and finance transactions, including TRAC, First Amendment, FMV, service contract and other true lease structures; synthetic leases, leases intended as security, equipment finance agreements and traditional loan transactions; progress payment, interim funding and construction financings; sublease and inventory structures; mixed goods and services transactions; vendor lease programs; assignments and syndications; warehouse and funding lines; and refinancings, back-leveraging, lease assignments, sales of interest and portfolio acquisitions. In the niche of energy financing, Ken represents lenders, investors, and developers in recourse and non-recourse financing transactions (debt and tax-driven sale-leasebacks) for energy facilities across the country and internationally, including biomass facilities, landfill-gas-to-energy projects, solar facilities, and natural-gas-fired plants.
Reed White (rwhite@cm.law) joins CM Law’s Banking & Financial Services Practice. He has extensive experience structuring, negotiating, and documenting commercial finance transactions in a variety of sizes and complexity. In his venture debt practice, Reed represents emerging technology companies throughout their debt funding lifecyle. Reed also represents sponsor-backed portfolio companies in connection with credit facilities used for working capital, dividend recapitalization, and acquisitions.
