Continued Growth of National, Cloud-Based Law Firm’s DC Office is “Disrupting” the Conventional Law Firm Business Model
WASHINGTON, DC (May 23, 2017) – Ernest Stern (estern@culhane.law) has joined Culhane Meadows’, the fast-growing cloud-based national law firm, as a partner in its Washington, DC practice, according to today’s announcement by James Meadows, managing partner of the DC office and one of the firm’s founding partners.
Ernest’s Corporate and Securities practice includes the representation of public and private emerging companies, many of which are technology-based. He assists them at every stage of their growth plan through venture financing in the form of private placements with high net worth individuals, institutional venture capital, PIPE investments, and IPOs. Recently, Ernest handled one of the first 20 confidential IPO filings under the JOBS Act for an emerging growth company and served as underwriters’ counsel for a successful IPO of a company that listed on NASDAQ. Additionally, he advises companies in cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, and he has extensive experience in advising on SEC and NASD compliance issues.
Ernest received his A.B., summa cum laude, and Phi Beta Kappa, from Bowdoin College, and his J.D. and LL.M. (Taxation) from Georgetown University Law Center. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia.
“We are delighted to welcome Ernest as a partner to the Culhane Meadows,” says Meadows. “His skill in protecting clients’ interests at nearly every stage of a company’s development — from start-up through M&A, financing, tax and securities and SEC compliance significantly benefits the organizations we serve.”
Prior to joining Culhane Meadows, Ernest was a member at such elite firms as Akerman, Seyfarth Shaw, and DLA Piper. “At Culhane Meadows,” he says, “I can ensure my clients enjoy the same access to big-law service and expertise they have long relied on, with the added benefit of Culhane Meadows’ emphasis on delivering partner-level attention to clients within a more collaborative and efficient business model.”
