“Every dollar that a man earns, a woman earns 83 cents according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics for 2021. That difference between men and women is greater for women of color with African American women typically earning 64 cents and women who are Hispanic at 54 cents. When we look at all of the groups in the workforce, women just make less than men. Some research from the Department of Labor has shown that when you drill down on industry, the wage gap still exists.” — Jo Bennett
