Culhane Meadows PLLC is pleased to announce that partner Linda V. Priebe has been named a 2015 Washington D.C. Super Lawyer for the second year in a row.
Ms. Priebe joins Culhane Meadows directly from her role as Deputy General Counsel and Ethics Official at the White House Office of Drug Policy (ONDCP) from 1999-2013. While at ONDCP, Ms. Priebe was counsel in a dozen cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. Having served as Ethics Advisor in the White House Office of Counsel to the President and ONDCP in various capacities for fourteen years, Ms. Priebe has been a trusted legal advisor to three U.S. presidential administrations. Her focus is on social media compliance and federal relations.
At ONDCP, Ms. Priebe provided legal advice and counsel regarding social media, blogging, digital newsletters, and website content and functionality including pre-publication review for endorsements, privacy, informed consent, trademark, copyright, and disclaimers. She drafted and performed legal review of social media policies, procedures and practices including privacy, public comment monitoring, review and take down policies and procedures. She also managed due diligence regarding proposed guest bloggers; contest criteria, processes and awardees; suppliers; service providers; manufacturers; and media contractors; and designed and presented social media training to all White House Drug Policy spokespersons, officials and employees.
With her 14 years of federal service spanning 3 Presidential administrations, Ms. Priebe helps social media advertisers and marketers, regulated industries, technology firms, federal contractors, law firms, and employers avoid costly legal mistakes from falling out of compliance with the flood of new laws and regulations governing use of social media for business.
The selections for the Washington, DC list are made by the research team at Super Lawyers, which is a service of Thomson Reuters, Legal Division. Each year, the research team undertakes a multi-phase selection process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent evaluation of candidates by the attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area and a good-standing and disciplinary check. The final list represents “not more than 5 percent of total lawyers” in the District of Columbia. First published in 1991 by Law & Politics and acquired by Thomson Reuters in February 2010, Super Lawyers magazines reach more than 21 million readers across the country.
