Joni Richman’s corporate law practice focuses on negotiating and drafting of agreements for marketing campaigns, including client/agency agreements, talent/influencer agreements, cross promotion agreements, event hosting and sponsorship agreements, and sampling agreements. In addition, she counsels businesses on day-to-day contractual matters.
Ms. Richman started her career as an associate at Baker McKenzie, later becoming a partner at the firm. During her tenure, she advised a diverse group of U.S. and international clients on corporate matters, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, sales and distribution agreements, and other operational contracts. Ms. Richman also developed a specialty in entertainment law where she negotiated and drafted agreements related to film and television production.
In 2011, Ms. Richman co-founded Sway Group LLC an award-winning content marketing service leveraging influencers on social media platforms. As General Counsel for five years, Ms. Richman managed all legal matters of the business, including negotiating and drafting agency agreements, influencer agreements, employment agreements, leases, and other vendor contracts. She played a key role in strategic partnerships, overseeing letters of intent, joint ventures, and mergers. Additionally, she implemented legal processes, trained staff on compliance and contract management, and supervised outside counsel.
